Many take these as serious questions. But according to scientific study, there is no reliable evidence that proves bras breast cancer relationship. It is just hypothesis or a myth that many people believe in and many don’t.
Not only bras but also any of the clothes that are tight and restrictive, which block the lymphatic system cause the problem. The lymphatic system fully develops only during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Lymphatic circulation is the body’s purification and immune system. It consists of thin walled vessels that are similar to veins and arteries but have no internal pressure. They drain harmful toxins produced by cellular metabolism, viruses, bacteria and cancer cells from breast tissue. Bras put external pressure as well as restrict breast movement. They block lymphatic vessels and causes fluid accumulation in the breast tissue causing tenderness, swelling, cyst formation and hypothetically breast cancer. Gentle massage of breasts increases lymphatic flow and removes breast toxins.
When you take off your bra and your clothing leaves redness or lines on your body, it means your lymph system circulation was blocked. Especially with reference to the above context breast cancer and underwire bras are often related. We should not be pessimistic that underwire bras cause breast cancer. There is no convincing and authoritative study to support that wearing an underwire bra can cause breast cancer.

They claimed that women who didn’t wear bras have dramatically lower risks of breast cancer than those who wore bras more than 12 hours or whole day. Only if there was a highly controlled study under professional research doctors then we could get credible conclusion of relation between risk factors and breast cancer.
There are other risk factors such as family history of breast cancer, early menopause and smoking. But many studies have shown that 75% of the women who have breast cancer do not have any of these risk factors.
Bras for breast cancer patients who undergo mastectomy treatment are mastectomy bras. In mastectomy, surgeons removes only some part of effected tissue of breast or remove the breast completely.
British activists in Cyprus made longest chain of bras for breast cancer awareness and raising funds for research. They connected 114,000 bras and have claimed new Guinness Book of World Records as the former world record was made in Singapore in 2003 for linking 79,000 bras.
